Trump made the remarks on his social media platform, Truth Social, that day. He said, "They (the Iranian negotiating team) are begging us to make a deal," adding, "(Iran) has been completely militarily devastated and has no possibility of retaliating, so that’s how it should be."

Trump pointed out, "Nevertheless, publicly they are saying in the short term, 'We are only reviewing our (U.S.) proposal.'" He added, "They need to quickly engage seriously (in negotiations) before it’s too late," and warned, "Once that point passes, there is absolutely no way to reverse it, and it will never end well."
