OpenAsset, a company specializing in digital-asset finance, said it has secured preliminary certification under the Information Security Management System (ISMS) framework for the launch and operation of its digital-asset services.

The certification publicly validates the company’s progress in building an information-security and internal-control framework premised on live service operations. The company said it has been refining its stablecoin issuance platform, 'OpenMint,' and strengthening its operational foundation in response to the institutionalization trend, including the enactment of the Digital Asset Basic Act.

OpenAsset added that the preliminary certification also establishes a foundation to meet the information-security requirements needed for a future Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) filing. Digital-asset infrastructure is an area that demands advanced security and operational standards, including protection of user assets, access controls, key management, system stability, and incident-response frameworks.

The company said it has focused not only on technology development but also on building infrastructure suited to real-world service operations, and that the certification officially demonstrates its level of preparedness.

Going forward, OpenAsset plans to supply the market with digital-asset infrastructure that meets regulatory requirements in line with completion of its VASP filing and related institutional reforms. In particular, it will work to create a service environment for financial institutions and corporate clients based on wallet infrastructure with security, operational stability, and scalability. The company said it is currently in talks with financial institutions regarding use of the related infrastructure.

The company is also reviewing a plan to expand its business in phases across the broader spectrum of digital-asset use cases, including custody, transfers, exchange, and payments, in line with the policy direction. It said that as it expands services, it will prioritize regulatory compliance and user protection and pursue the business in accordance with licensing and approval procedures.

CEO Kim Kyung-up said, "Securing preliminary ISMS certification is the result of preparing in line with the institutionalization trend while viewing the digital-asset business as mid- to long-term financial infrastructure," adding, "We will continue to provide safe and practical digital-asset infrastructure that financial institutions and companies can trust."
