President Donald Trump delivered hawkish remarks toward allies over energy supply issues surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.

On the 31st, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “I have a proposal for countries that can’t secure jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz—especially countries like the U.K. that did not take part in the operation to eliminate Iran,” adding, “First, buy it from the United States. We have ample supply.”

He continued, “Second, have the courage to go to the strait yourselves and secure it,” and added, “You now need to learn how to fight for yourselves. The United States will no longer help.”

Trump also said, “Iran is effectively in a devastated state, and the hard phase is already over,” adding that “each country must secure crude oil on its own.”
