A senior executive at Tether (USDT), the issuer of the dollar-pegged stablecoin, has been appointed chair of a pro-cryptocurrency super PAC (Special Political Action Committee).
Eleanor Terrett, host of Crypto in America, said on X on the 1st (local time) that “Fellowship PAC, ahead of the midterm elections, appointed Jesse Spiro, Tether’s vice president for regulatory affairs, as chair.” Fellowship PAC is an organization that represents the interests of the cryptocurrency industry.
Spiro is a regulatory specialist who has worked at PayPal and Chainalysis, among others. The industry expects that with Spiro’s joining, Fellowship PAC’s lobbying efforts and support for endorsed candidates will accelerate in earnest.
Meanwhile, Fellowship PAC plans to release its first list of endorsed candidates within the next few days.
