Ali Akbar Velayati, senior adviser on international affairs to Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, said that “the Strait of Hormuz will always be closed to enemies.”
According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency on the 1st (local time), Velayati wrote on X that “this war will end through Iran’s careful planning and strength,” adding that “(the war) will not be resolved by the excessive confidence or unrealistic expectations of those who launched the aggression.”
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei also issued a statement the same day, saying, “We will not tolerate the vicious cycle of war, negotiations, and ceasefires repeating.” Baghaei said, “This war is an unjust war imposed on the Iranian people,” and claimed that “as long as the attacks by the United States and Israel continue, we will continue our response.”
