Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it has begun attacks targeting Amazon cloud infrastructure in Bahrain.
According to Walter Bloomberg on the 2nd (local time), the IRGC said it had identified an Amazon Web Services (AWS) data center in Bahrain as a target.
In fact, during the recent Middle East conflict, there have been reports of AWS data centers suffering damage from drone attacks and experiencing service disruptions.
This latest claim is also seen as aligning with Iran’s strategy of treating US-linked technology infrastructure as a military target.
Markets are focusing on the risk envelope widening as the conflict spreads beyond energy facilities to global IT infrastructure.
