FIFA picks ADI Chain as World Cup’s first-ever ‘prediction market’ partner... token hits record high

FIFA has named blockchain-based prediction market platform “ADI Predictstreet” as its first-ever official prediction market partner ahead of this year’s North and Central America World Cup.

On the 2nd (local time), FIFA announced it had signed a multi-year partnership agreement with ADI Predictstreet. Through the collaboration, fans will be able to participate in markets predicting not only match outcomes across the World Cup, but also player statistics, key moments and more.

In a statement, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said, “FIFA remains committed to continuously enhancing the fan experience and embracing innovation that brings supporters closer to the game,” adding, “This partnership will introduce an exciting new way for fans around the world to engage with football.”

FIFA selected ADI Predictstreet, a young company that has yet to launch an official platform, as its partner. ADI Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling network specialized for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Andrey Lazorenko, CEO of the ADI Foundation, emphasized that “building on ADI Chain’s infrastructure will open a path for fans to become part of football history at an unprecedented scale.”

Markets reacted immediately to the news. According to CoinGecko, ADI—the native token of ADI Chain—posted $4.54 as of the 3rd, setting a new all-time high. That marks a gain of about 12% over the past week.
