A ceasefire proposal aimed at ending the armed conflict has reportedly been conveyed to the United States and Iran.

According to Reuters on the 6th, a ceasefire framework brokered by Pakistan was delivered to Washington and Tehran. The plan is said to be designed as a two-stage structure: an immediate ceasefire followed by efforts toward a comprehensive agreement.

Reports say that if an initial deal is reached, the parties would move straight into a ceasefire, raising the prospect that the Strait of Hormuz could reopen immediately. The approach would seek to reach a final agreement within 15–20 days, with possible agenda items including limits on Iran’s nuclear program and sanctions relief.

The proposal is being referred to as the “Islamabad Agreement,” with Pakistan reportedly serving as a key communications channel. Pakistan’s top military leadership is said to be coordinating talks while maintaining contacts with U.S. counterparts and Iran’s diplomatic authorities.

Iran, however, has yet to issue an official position on the proposal. Multiple sources said that despite outreach through civilian and military channels, Iran has not yet signaled a clear willingness to accept it.
