Iran said it would add energy facilities in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to its list of potential targets if its own infrastructure is attacked, signaling it could broaden retaliation to energy assets across the region.

Walter Bloomberg reported on April 7 that an Iranian military source said Saudi Aramco facilities, Yanbu and oil transfer facilities in Fujairah in the UAE would be targeted if the US attacks Iranian power plants.

Those sites are core infrastructure for Middle East crude exports. Yanbu and Fujairah are especially important because they are major export routes that bypass the Strait of Hormuz.

The remarks came as the US recently raised the possibility of strikes on Iranian infrastructure. Iran has maintained that it could expand the scope of its response if such facilities are attacked.

With military tensions persisting in the Middle East, the risk of a wider conflict involving energy facilities remains a key variable. Further escalation could affect oil supplies and market volatility.
