Swift plans to launch a blockchain-based ledger service in the first half of this year.
CoinPaprika reported on March 7 that Swift recently began building the blockchain ledger, targeting a launch within the first half. More than 40 banks are participating in the project as partners, the report said.
Swift’s ledger will use the open-source blockchain Hyperledger Besu. It also plans to integrate Chainlink’s blockchain, according to the report.
Swift said last year that it would work with Consensys to develop a blockchain-based payment system.
