President Donald Trump said June 8 that the U.S. would discuss tariffs and sanctions relief with Iran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the U.S. would work closely with Iran, which he described as having undergone “a very productive regime change.” He also wrote that many of the 15 negotiating items had already been agreed.
Trump also addressed Iran’s nuclear program. “There will be no uranium enrichment,” he said. The U.S. will work with Iran to dig up and remove nuclear debris buried deep underground, he wrote. He added that the area is now under “very precise” satellite surveillance by the U.S. Space Force.
Trump also announced an additional tariff measure. Any country that supplies military weapons to Iran will immediately be subject to a 50% tariff on all goods sold to the U.S., he said. The measure takes effect immediately, with no exceptions or waivers.
