Korbit, a South Korean cryptocurrency exchange, is moving to build a donation model using digital assets.
Korbit said May 9 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Good Neighbors to promote digital-asset-based donations.
The agreement was signed May 8 at Good Neighbors Hall in Seoul's Yeongdeungpo district. Korbit Chief Executive Officer Oh Se-jin and Good Neighbors Secretary General Jeon Mi-sun attended the ceremony.
The two sides agreed to introduce donation methods using digital assets, broaden participation and expand the donation ecosystem. They plan to build a new social contribution model using virtual assets.
Korbit plans to run donation campaigns on its exchange platform and design a participation structure centered on digital assets.
Oh said he hopes virtual assets can be used as a tool to create social value beyond their role as an investment vehicle.
Jeon said Good Neighbors would continue to provide more stable support through a digital-asset-based donation model.
