The Israeli military said it had killed a close aide to Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem.
Reuters and other media reported on April 9 that the Israeli military said it killed Ali Youssef Harchi in an overnight airstrike on Beirut. Harchi was Qassem's personal secretary and nephew.
Harchi also served as an adviser to Qassem, the military said. It described him as the person in charge of managing Qassem's office and overseeing its security, with access limited to only a small number of Hezbollah members.
The Israeli military also said it struck a strategic site near the Litani River in southern Lebanon on April 8. It said the attack destroyed two of Hezbollah's key supply routes.
