BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo said he donated 4 million pounds ($5.1 million) to Reform UK.

Delo disclosed the donation in an opinion piece published by the Telegraph on April 8. He wrote that the money was given to Reform UK before the British government earlier this year capped donations from Britons living overseas at 100,000 pounds.

It was not disclosed whether the contribution was made in fiat currency or cryptocurrency. The UK is currently pursuing a plan to ban cryptocurrency donations to domestic political parties.

Delo also said a ban on cryptocurrency donations to political parties should be put on hold.
