Reuters reported on Aug. 9 that the Senate Banking Committee had decided not to hold Warsh’s confirmation hearing next week as originally scheduled.
The committee is made up of 13 Republicans and 11 Democrats. With all Democrats opposed, the nomination cannot clear the committee if even one Republican votes against it.
