Russia is withdrawing most of its personnel from Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant, raising safety concerns.
Walter Bloomberg, an overseas financial news account, reported on X on June 13 that Russia’s state nuclear company Rosatom was pulling most of its staff from the Bushehr plant.
Rosatom Chief Executive Officer Alexey Likhachev said about 108 personnel are being withdrawn, while only a minimum staff of 20 will remain on site to monitor equipment. The measure is being carried out in coordination with Iranian authorities.
The decision appears to reflect growing military threats near the plant since the outbreak of war.
