Citing Walter Bloomberg, an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said June 15 that Tehran has continued to exchange messages with Washington through Pakistan. The ministry added that it could not confirm any details reported by Western media about negotiations with the US.
The Associated Press reported the same day, citing an official involved in mediating a ceasefire between the US and Iran, that the two countries had agreed in principle to extend the ceasefire to buy time for further diplomacy. AP said that would bring them closer to resuming negotiations aimed at reviving the fragile truce before it expires next week.
