President Donald Trump said China had agreed not to send weapons to Iran.
In a Truth Social post on June 15, Trump said China was "very happy" with his push to keep the Strait of Hormuz permanently open.
"I am doing that for China, and for the world," he wrote. "This situation will never happen again."
Trump also referred to a US-China summit planned for next month. He said that when he visits China in the coming weeks, President Xi Jinping will "give me a big hug" and that the two sides are working together "smartly" and "very well."
