The U.S. military is prepared to resume operations involving Iran at any time, according to a report, highlighting the risk that tensions could flare again even as a ceasefire remains in place.

Walter Bloomberg reported on April 21, citing Axios, that Gen. John Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the U.S. military was "prepared to immediately resume" operations involving Iran.

The comment suggested the situation could escalate again at any time despite the ceasefire. In recent briefings, the U.S. military has also said it can respond immediately if needed.
