Al Jazeera says Tehran is moving "very cautiously"
Iran is not reacting to the ceasefire extension itself

Iran has yet to issue an official response after US President Donald Trump announced an extension of the ceasefire. Al Jazeera described Tehran's approach as "very cautious."
In a report published on April 22, Al Jazeera said Iran believes the US showed little willingness in previous rounds of talks to honor or respect Tehran's terms and conditions. It said that distrust is at the heart of the issue. Iranian officials are not fixated on the ceasefire extension itself and are instead focused on the broader situation, the report added.
Al Jazeera said Tehran is focused on how to secure its own conditions and how to proceed if negotiations resume in the coming days. Iran is maintaining that it remains open to any kind of talks if trust can be built over the next few days, the outlet added.
Trump earlier wrote on Truth Social that Iran's government is "seriously divided" and that this was not unexpected, as he announced the ceasefire extension. He added that he had received a request from Pakistan Army chief Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to hold off on attacks against Iran until its leaders and delegation could present a unified proposal.
Trump said he had instructed the US military to maintain the blockade and remain prepared in all other respects. He also said the ceasefire would be extended until Iran submits a proposal and discussions reach some kind of conclusion.
