Iran reiterated its willingness to engage in talks while sharply criticizing US actions, signaling that the negotiating impasse remains in place.

Walter Bloomberg reported on April 22 that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran supports dialogue and agreement.

He said breaches of commitments, blockades and threats are obstructing genuine negotiations.

Pezeshkian also criticized the US, saying there is hypocrisy between words and actions.

The comments came as Iran sent mixed signals over whether it would participate in negotiations. While leaving the door open to dialogue, Tehran has maintained a conditional stance on talks.

Markets are watching whether the tougher rhetoric could delay negotiations and keep Middle East tensions elevated. Whether talks resume remains the key variable.
