Pakistan said the US and Iran will both need to make concessions if their talks are to continue, as negotiations remain deadlocked.

Walter Bloomberg reported on April 23 that a Pakistani diplomatic source said Washington and Tehran must each give ground on some issues for the talks to move forward.

The negotiations have made limited progress because of differences over the nuclear program, sanctions and control of the Strait of Hormuz.

The US is demanding limits on nuclear activity and controls on uranium, while Iran is insisting on sanctions relief and an end to the maritime blockade as key conditions.

Markets are focused on the view that mutual concessions will be unavoidable if the two sides are to reach a deal. Any shift in either side's stance will be a key factor in restarting talks and easing tensions in the Middle East.
