Pudgy Penguins, a non-fungible token project, is stepping up its policy outreach as it broadens engagement with the U.S. Congress.
According to the digital-asset industry on April 27, Pudgy Penguins held its first public event for policy officials on April 24 at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington. The project’s co-founders took part in a panel discussion, outlining its growth and explaining how digital assets can be used in retail and mainstream markets.
Pudgy Penguins said it had sought from the beginning to show policymakers, through its brand, how digital assets can be applied in retail and mass-market settings. After more than a year of visits to Congress, it held its first official event, the company said. It added that the expansion of Pudgy Penguins and its PENGU token would help drive growth across the broader digital-asset ecosystem.
The event was moderated by Colin MacLaren of the Solana Policy Institute.
Chief Executive Officer Luca Netz said crypto projects will increasingly fall into two camps: those that build relationships with the government and those that do not. Securing leadership within Congress will play an important role in the project’s long-term expansion, he added.
