Iran has temporarily halted exports of semi-finished steel products.
BlockBeats reported on April 27 that Iran's state media said the government had suspended exports of steel slabs, a semi-finished product, and steel plate through May 30.
The move appears aimed at prioritizing domestic supply as tensions in the Middle East escalate and disruptions to production and logistics continue. Iran had previously halted petrochemical exports as well, underscoring broader restrictions on overseas shipments of key industrial resources.
Iran is a notable supplier in the global semi-finished steel market, and prolonged export curbs could affect international steel prices.
