The benchmark closed at 6,690.90 on April 29, up 49.88 points, or 0.75%, from the previous session, according to the Korea Exchange. That topped the previous record close of 6,641.02 set a day earlier.
The index opened at 6,619.00, down 22.02 points, or 0.33%, from the previous session. After swinging between gains and losses, it rebounded in the afternoon.
The Kosdaq index closed at 1,220.26, up 4.68 points, or 0.39%, from the previous session.
