Alberta Investment Management Corp. (AIMCo), a Canadian pension fund manager, has bought about $220 million worth of Strategy shares.
Wu Blockchain reported on April 30 that AIMCo disclosed it had acquired 1.38 million shares of Strategy. The stake is valued at about $219 million.
AIMCo manages $142 billion in assets. The purchase marks its first investment in Bitcoin-related assets.
Bitcoin was trading at $76,301.86 as of 10:07 p.m., down 1.05% from a day earlier, according to CoinMarketCap. The token was down 1.96% from a week earlier.
