Bitcoin is rebounding near the average purchase price of money that flowed into spot exchange-traded funds in the early stage following their approval, according to an on-chain analysis. The market sees institutional inflows as creating a structure that differs from past cycles.

On May 4, on-chain analyst Crypto Dan wrote in a CryptoQuant QuickTake post that Bitcoin was "finding support and rebounding near the average purchase price of funds that entered in the early days after spot ETF approval."

Those inflows are believed to have come mainly from institutional investors rather than retail traders. As a result, that average entry-price range is acting as an important short-term support level.

Crypto Dan also highlighted structural differences in the current cycle from previous ones. While some on-chain indicators still suggest the market has yet to form a bottom, large institutional inflows through spot ETFs were not a factor in earlier cycles.

That leaves open the possibility that the current decline could unfold differently from previous downturns.

In the short term, he wrote, investors should watch the depth and intensity of any pullback that follows this rebound. A staggered buying strategy could prove effective during a future correction phase.

The market is also watching whether the average purchase price formed by institutional inflows continues to act as downside support, along with how flows change during the next correction.
