Iran said it is still reviewing a US proposal related to ending the war.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told the semi-official ISNA news agency on May 6 that the proposal "is still under review." Iran plans to convey its position to Pakistan once the review is complete, he added.

Axios reported on May 6, citing multiple sources, that the US and Iran are close to signing a one-page memorandum of understanding that would lay out a detailed framework for nuclear talks and end the war. The report said Washington expects a response from Tehran on several key issues within the next 48 hours. It added that the two sides are closer to an agreement than at any point since the war began.

The US and Iran are in last-minute talks over 14 items, according to reports. Walter Bloomberg said the main sticking points include a temporary suspension of Iran's uranium enrichment, a pledge to abandon nuclear weapons development, acceptance of United Nations inspections, and limits on underground nuclear facilities.
