Israel's military expanded its airstrikes in southern Lebanon, stoking renewed tensions in the Middle East.

Crypto-focused media outlet Odaily reported on May 10 that Lebanon's state-run National News Agency and the Health Ministry said Israeli strikes hit several areas in southern Lebanon a day earlier, killing at least 15 people. The dead included one child. Multiple others were injured.

Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group, said the same day that it fired rockets at Israeli military vehicles and troop concentrations near the Lebanon-Israel border. It said the attack was in response to Israel's violation of a ceasefire agreement.

Even as the U.S. and Iran continue talks aimed at ending the war, sporadic clashes have persisted on the Lebanese front. Markets are viewing that as a sign that Middle East geopolitical risk has not fully eased.
