President Donald Trump said Iran will eventually stop enriching uranium and insisted Tehran will not obtain a nuclear weapon. He also said the US is not rushing negotiations and is maintaining military pressure.

Walter Bloomberg, an overseas breaking-news account, reported on May 12 that Trump said in a radio interview that "Iran will stop uranium enrichment 100%."

Trump said US pressure and blockade measures are pushing Iran to the negotiating table. He added that the US is in direct contact with Iran, but said it would not rush into any agreement.

Trump also said he believes a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping will go well.

China is strong, he said, but the US is stronger militarily.

On tariff policy, Trump said tariffs should be handled differently and that the US could impose higher costs.
