President Donald Trump on May 14 praised his summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping and invited Xi and his wife to visit the White House on Sept. 24.
Speaking at a state banquet hosted by Xi at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Trump said the two sides had held "very positive and productive talks and meetings" with the Chinese delegation.
"Tonight is another valuable opportunity to discuss some of the issues we talked about among friends," he said. "They are all good things for both the United States and China."
Trump ended his banquet remarks by proposing a toast "to the rich and enduring relationship between the American people and the Chinese people."
