AI Financial, the Nasdaq-listed company that holds World Liberty Financial (WLFI), the crypto project linked to US President Donald Trump’s family, said it should not be viewed simply as a digital asset treasury company.

CoinDesk reported on May 20 that AI Financial said labeling it as only a DAT company does not accurately reflect the scope of its business. The company, formerly known as Alt5 Sigma, is among the firms holding WLFI.

AI Financial said it operates fintech and digital payments businesses while pursuing a long-term strategy across digital assets, tokenization and next-generation financial technology. It operates the ALT5 Pay crypto payments platform and ALT5 Prime, an over-the-counter digital-asset trading business.

The company recently announced the acquisition of Block Street, a provider of tokenization and initial coin offering infrastructure. It also signed a commercial agreement with SuperQ Quantum as it expands into digital financial infrastructure.

CoinDesk said, however, that AI Financial’s financial structure remains heavily dependent on WLFI tokens. Recent filings show the company held about 7.28 billion WLFI tokens as of the end of March, valued at roughly $710 million.

That was down sharply from the $1.46 billion acquisition cost, according to CoinDesk. The company’s fintech business generated just $4.7 million in first-quarter revenue.
