Dunamu Launches ‘Upbit Skills’ to Help AI Agents Use Upbit API

Dunamu, the operator of digital-asset exchange Upbit, said Friday it has launched “Upbit Skills,” a set of guidance and resources designed to help users more easily use command-line interface, or CLI, functions based on the Upbit application programming interface, or API, through natural-language commands to AI.

The release comes as “vibe trading” — using AI agents and APIs for investing and trading — draws attention after the spread of “vibe coding,” which uses AI to write and edit code through natural-language instructions. The number of Upbit users using APIs rose 76% in 2025 from 2023, driven by service upgrades and wider use of AI technology. Dunamu introduced Upbit Skills to support an easier and more stable vibe-trading environment for digital assets.

Upbit Skills is a collection of reference guides and resources for AI coding-agent environments that support skills, including Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. It helps AI agents use the Upbit CLI to perform tasks such as checking prices, reviewing balances, placing orders, and checking deposit and withdrawal records.

A prompt is a one-time instruction entered in a chat format. A skill, by contrast, works more like an expandable operating manual that bundles procedures, rules, examples and tool instructions for repeated tasks. Using skills allows users to handle complex API command structures and service-specific rules more easily through natural language.

For example, in an AI agent environment that supports skills, users can enter requests such as “Check the current price of KRW-BTC,” “Check my Upbit balance,” or “Create a test command to buy 10,000 won ($7) worth of BTC at market price.” The AI agent can then suggest the appropriate CLI command structure or assist with execution.

Upbit Skills supports market-data queries including current prices, order books, trades, candles and market lists; account-information checks such as balances; order support including creation, inquiry, cancellation and test orders; deposit and withdrawal support including deposit address lookup and withdrawal information checks; and Travel Rule verification support for deposits that require account-owner confirmation. Demand is increasing for tools that let users build trading tools directly with AI agents or set up their own investment environments, a Dunamu official said. That is raising the importance of making complex API usage methods and exchange-specific rules easier and more consistent to apply. The company expects Upbit Skills to help users use the Upbit API more easily and accurately with AI agents and to test their own trading environments, the official added.
