Shares of LG, Naver and Hyundai AutoEver rallied after reports that Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang may visit South Korea on June 5 to meet SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin. The prospect of a "second Kkanbu meeting" also fueled investor interest.
As of 9:23 a.m. on May 29, LG was trading at 125,000 won, up 9,200 won, or 7.94%, from the previous session. LG Electronics and LG CNS were up 22.62% and 25.80%, respectively, while Naver and Hyundai AutoEver had gained 10.24% and 13.27%.
Industry sources say Huang is considering traveling to South Korea immediately after Nvidia's annual AI conference, GTC Taipei 2026, which runs from June 1 to June 4 in Taipei, Taiwan. Chey, Koo and Lee have all but finalized their schedules for June 5 to coincide with Huang's visit, according to the sources. Chung is leaning toward attending and is making last-minute adjustments to his schedule.
The meeting would center on ways to expand cooperation in physical AI. Chey and Huang have maintained frequent contact and are set to meet again at this year's GTC Taipei. A private meeting with Koo and Lee would mark Huang's first such session with them.
