Aeternum said on May 29 that it held the two-day Unchained Summit Vietnam cryptocurrency conference in Da Nang, Vietnam, from May 28. The event was co-hosted with the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center.

Participants included the Da Nang People’s Committee, the State Securities Commission of Vietnam and Da Nang’s Department of Science and Technology. Aeternum said Vietnam’s digital-asset industry is moving beyond the early experimental stage and into policy development. Growing participation by authorities reflects that shift.

The first day opened with remarks by Nguyen Viet Toan, director of the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center. To Tran Hoa of the State Securities Commission of Vietnam then delivered a keynote address on the direction of digital-asset regulation.

On the second day, Ho Quang Buu, vice chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, gave opening remarks. Sessions covered the convergence of artificial intelligence and blockchain, on-chain intelligence and Europe’s approach to digital-asset regulation.

Private roundtables were also held. On the first day, 17 representatives from government, exchanges, financial institutions, infrastructure companies and regulatory bodies met to discuss “Vietnam’s path toward a trusted digital-asset ecosystem.” On the second day, more than 20 government and institutional officials joined talks on “Positioning Da Nang as a digital finance center.”

Sharath Kumar, Aeternum’s chief executive officer, said Da Nang had proved it deserves to be at the center of global Web3 discussions. Institutional interest, government participation and the caliber of attendees were not accidental.

Tanna Chong, head of public policy at VerifyVASP, said the Unchained Summit gives public- and private-sector leaders a venue for substantive discussions in markets such as Vietnam, where rules are being written.
