Iran’s foreign minister said the ceasefire agreement with the US applies to all fronts, including Lebanon. The warning came after Israel ordered airstrikes on Hezbollah-linked areas in Lebanon.
Walter Bloomberg, the overseas financial news account, reported on X on June 1 that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had said the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the US extends to all fronts, including Lebanon.
Any violation on one front would be treated as a breach of the entire ceasefire agreement, Araghchi said. He added that the US and Israel would be responsible for the consequences.
The remarks came after Israel ordered strikes on Hezbollah-linked areas in Beirut’s southern suburbs. Iran’s position is that military action on the Lebanese front would also amount to a violation of the ceasefire deal.
