SK Group is moving to strengthen its long-term partnership with Nvidia through a series of meetings focused on AI infrastructure.
SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won met Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang in Taipei on June 1 to discuss cooperation in AI memory. A photo of the meeting posted on social media by SK hynix showed senior executives from both companies, including SK hynix Chief Executive Officer Kwak Noh-jung, in attendance.
SK hynix said the meeting was a chance to congratulate Nvidia on reaching a $1 trillion market capitalization and reflect on the companies' achievements in AI memory. It added that the two sides would continue working together to open a new chapter in AI infrastructure.
Huang also reaffirmed Nvidia's strong ties with SK. Speaking to reporters at a dinner with South Korean partner companies shortly after the meeting, he listed performance, quality, reliability and supply capacity as the key requirements for HBM. "We are working very closely with SK," he said. "We have had a long relationship, and I am proud of their success."
Huang is also set to hold another meeting with Chey during his upcoming visit to South Korea after completing his schedule in Taiwan.
