SK Hynix is deepening its memory collaboration with Nvidia as the companies target the artificial intelligence infrastructure market. They will jointly develop next-generation memory for global AI factories and expand a long-term technology partnership that also applies AI to chip design and manufacturing.
SK Hynix said on June 8 that it would strengthen its long-term technology partnership with Nvidia to co-develop next-generation memory for global AI factories and accelerate semiconductor design and manufacturing.
The partnership builds on years of collaboration in AI computing platforms. SK Hynix has been a key supplier of advanced memory for Nvidia's AI platforms. With the new agreement, the companies aim to move beyond a simple supplier relationship and reinforce a joint development framework aligned with the expansion of AI infrastructure.
"AI factories are the engines of the next industrial revolution, and advanced memory is central to their performance," Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang said.
He called SK Hynix a key partner in providing advanced memory technology for Nvidia's AI computing platforms. The companies will jointly develop next-generation memory for AI factories and support faster expansion of global AI infrastructure, from training frontier models to agentic AI and physical AI.
SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won said the partnership extends the companies' long-running collaboration. He said the agreement shows the depth of cooperation SK Hynix and Nvidia have built over the years. By jointly developing next-generation memory for AI factories and applying AI to chip design and manufacturing, the companies will help shape the future of AI infrastructure, he added.
SK Hynix said the long-term partnership would also help establish a stable supply base aligned with advanced memory development cycles. Because advanced memory takes a long time to develop, continuous supply is important to match Nvidia's infrastructure roadmap and global demand for AI infrastructure, it said.
The scope of the partnership is also widening. SK Hynix said the agreement would help it expand beyond AI infrastructure into new markets Nvidia is developing, including personal AI and physical AI. The companies plan to jointly develop memory for the Vera Rubin AI supercomputer, Vera CPU, RTX Spark PC and Jetson Thor robotics computing platform.
