Odaily, a cryptocurrency-focused media outlet, reported on June 8 that the Iraqi militia group Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced that day it would take part in military operations targeting Israel.
The group did not disclose when the operation would begin or how it would be carried out. Earlier on June 8, the Israeli military said it had detected additional missiles launched from Iran toward Israel and activated its air-defense systems.
Markets are watching whether the Middle East conflict will widen beyond Iran and Israel to surrounding armed groups. A broader escalation could weigh on international oil prices, inflation expectations and investor sentiment toward risk assets including cryptocurrencies.
