Securitize CEO Says Stock Tokenization Could Drive RWA Market to $5 Trillion

Carlos Domingo, chief executive officer of real-world asset tokenization infrastructure firm Securitize, said stock and ETF tokenization will be the next major driver of growth in the RWA market.
Domingo made the remarks at an ETHConf panel in New York on June 9, CoinDesk reported. He said the global stock and ETF market is worth about $150 trillion.
If just 2% to 3% of that market moves on-chain, the tokenized asset market could approach $5 trillion, he said.
The projection suggests the tokenization market, currently estimated at about $30 billion, could expand sharply as stocks and ETFs are brought onto blockchain rails.
Tokenized U.S. Treasuries have led growth in the RWA market over the past two years, Domingo said. He added that stock tokens will be the next growth engine.
Global financial institutions and blockchain companies have recently been expanding efforts to issue traditional financial assets such as stocks, ETFs and bonds as blockchain-based tokens.
The RWA market could grow even faster if the US establishes clearer digital-asset rules and institutional investor participation increases.
