Fox News interview: 'Today's strikes will stop soon'
Trump says he spoke with Iranian officials; Tehran denies it

President Donald Trump said on June 10 that the U.S. struck targets near Tehran and elsewhere in Iran with 49 Tomahawk missiles.
Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst said Trump made the remarks in a phone interview, saying U.S. warplanes launched 49 Tomahawk missiles at Iranian targets that day.
Trump said the U.S. hit Iran "very hard" that night and described the attack as "brutal and violent," Yingst added.
Yingst said Trump told him some of the targets were about 40 miles, or roughly 65 kilometers, from Tehran. Others were in coastal areas of western Iran along the Persian Gulf.
Trump said the bombing campaign would stop soon. Asked what would happen if Iran did not sign a proposal presented by the U.S. negotiating team, he replied: "We will bomb them tomorrow night and smash them."
Trump also said in the phone interview that he had spoken directly with an Iranian official and that the official asked him to halt the airstrikes. Iranian state media denied the claim, saying no conversation took place between Iranian officials and Trump.
U.S. Central Command, which oversees American forces in the Middle East, said on X that it had launched "additional self-defense strikes" against multiple targets in Iran at 5:15 p.m. Eastern time on June 10.
The latest U.S. strikes came about five hours after Trump told reporters at the White House that the U.S. would hit Iran "again, harder" later that day.
