An Iranian hard-line official has dismissed President Donald Trump’s declaration that he had reached a “great agreement” to end the war with Iran, calling it a deception and urging Tehran to escalate attacks on the US.

CNN reported on June 11 that Ebrahim Rezaei, a lawmaker and spokesman for the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, wrote on X that “there is a very high probability Trump is using deception” and that “he is only trying to calm the situation for now.”

Rezaei added that Iran should “strike the US harder.” He also called for destroying US infrastructure, economic hubs and regional artificial intelligence facilities to inflict greater pain.

Trump had earlier declared that he had “ended the war with Iran” and achieved a “great agreement.” The comments came only hours after he said the US would hit Iran “very strongly” and seize Kharg Island, a key hub for Iranian oil exports. Trump later said he had canceled that strike plan.
