Global cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has introduced weekend trading for spot stock tokens.

Bitget added the feature on June 12 for its tokenized stock product, rToken, according to BlockBeats and other media reports. The initial rollout covers 20 stocks, including Apple, Nvidia and Tesla.

The feature is designed to let users trade tokenized stocks while US equity markets are closed. Bitget said it will calculate weekend prices based on Friday closing prices, market-maker quotes and market expectations.

Weekend trading also supports limit orders, stop-loss orders and take-profit settings. To prevent abnormal volatility, Bitget will impose a plus-or-minus 20% cap on weekend limit orders.

rTokens are labeled by adding the letter "r" before a stock ticker. Nvidia, for example, trades as rNVDA, while Apple trades as rAAPL.

Each rToken is pegged 1:1 to its underlying asset. The reserve assets are held by a licensed custodian.

Stock dividends will also be paid in token form on a 1:1 basis. Corporate actions such as stock splits and reverse splits will be mirrored in the tokens.
