FIFA Names Kraken Official Crypto Exchange Sponsor for 2026 World Cup

FIFA said on June 13 it named global cryptocurrency exchange Kraken the official crypto exchange sponsor of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 2026 tournament will be the largest in World Cup history, with 48 teams playing 104 matches across 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico and the US. Kraken said it plans to offer soccer fans around the world a new World Cup experience through promotional programs and products during the tournament.

“Innovation has always played a central role in how FIFA evolves and enhances the fan experience,” FIFA Chief Business Officer Romy Gai said. He added that FIFA looks forward to working with Kraken to create unforgettable experiences that bring fans closer to the game.

“Football has always crossed borders, and crypto is no different,” Kraken Co-Chief Executive Officer Arjun Sethi said. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be a stage to show the world an open, borderless financial system that anyone can access from the phone in their pocket, he added.
