The US and Iran plan to sign a peace agreement later today, Al Arabiya reported.

Delegations from the two countries are scheduled to hold a video meeting and sign the accord in the form of a memorandum of understanding, or MoU, according to the report. The detailed terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Senior officials from both sides are set to take part in the online meeting. Vice President JD Vance will attend for the US. Iran plans to have its chief negotiator join Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf at the signing ceremony.

Key officials from Pakistan and Qatar are also expected to join remotely to witness the signing.

The two countries also agreed to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz once the agreement is signed, according to a source cited in the report. Global merchant ships and cargo vessels will be able to move through the waterway freely without paying separate transit fees.
