Iran said it had received a US promise that no new sanctions would be imposed, according to a report.

Walter Bloomberg, a real-time financial news account, posted on X on June 15, citing Iran's Tasnim News Agency, that the US had promised not to impose any new sanctions on Iran.

The comment came as Washington and Tehran prepare for nuclear talks and the process of lifting sanctions after reaching a preliminary agreement. Iran had previously said discussions on nuclear negotiations and sanctions relief would begin within 60 days.

The specific scope of the pledge to halt new sanctions, and when it would take effect, have not been disclosed.
