President Donald Trump said oil tankers have begun moving out of the Strait of Hormuz.
In a Truth Social post on June 15, Trump wrote that "many ships" carrying oil had started moving out of the strait.
The vessels are traveling along the southern "highway," he said, calling the route "completely safe, secure and clean."
He added that there are other routes as well.
The remarks came after a preliminary agreement between the US and Iran, as the normalization of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz emerged as a key variable for international oil prices and global financial markets.
