Humanity has outlined a recovery plan after the attack on its H token, saying it will discontinue the existing token and airdrop a new ERC-20-based H token to eligible holders on a 1-for-1 basis.

In a notice published on June 16, Humanity said the existing H tokens on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain and the Humanity mainnet had been discontinued. Existing holders across all three chains will receive the new H token through an airdrop. The new token will use the same H ticker.

The project said the new H token has been issued as an Ethereum-based ERC-20 contract and has completed a full security audit. The swap ratio is 1-to-1.

The airdrop will be based on balances at a specific block recorded just before the attack. The snapshot was taken at 17:25:35 UTC on June 8, 2026. The reference blocks were Ethereum block 25,274,179, BNB Smart Chain block 103,071,069, and Humanity block 24,247,803.

Humanity said wallets tied to the attacker, along with related addresses identified in an investigation by Quantstamp, were excluded from the airdrop. Standard externally owned accounts, or EOAs, will receive the new H token directly. Non-EOA holdings, including H tokens held in liquidity pools or smart contracts, will be placed in a separate vault pending a decision on how to process them.

Humanity also set up a compensation fund for complex on-chain exceptions. The project said it formally established the H compensation fund to handle third-party protocol integrations and discrepancies involving decentralized liquidity providers that cannot be fully resolved through the automatic airdrop.

The fund will also cover legitimate users who bought H tokens after the snapshot and still hold them. Because the attack is believed to be linked to North Korea-affiliated actors, claimants will be required to undergo know-your-customer, or KYC, checks and anti-money laundering, or AML, screening.

Compensation claims will be accepted through an official claims portal. Users who held H tokens on exchanges should check separate notices from their trading platforms.

The Humanity mainnet is set to restart within the next few weeks. After the relaunch, the new H token will serve as the network's native gas token. Humanity said it is working with major centralized exchanges, bridges, liquidity providers and partners on the migration.

The project also warned users to watch for impersonation accounts and fake claim links. Official announcements will be made only through verified channels, it said, and users should avoid any claim links or impersonator accounts not provided directly by the project.
