President Donald Trump said a memorandum of understanding intended to end the war with Iran is not a final agreement.
Walter Bloomberg and other outlets reported on June 17 that Trump said the US would resume bombing if he does not like the terms of the ceasefire deal. If he does not like what he sees, he said, the US would attack Iran again.
Trump also addressed an Iran reconstruction fund. He said reports that the agreement with Iran includes a $300 billion reconstruction fund are false. The US will not invest in such a fund, he added.
On the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said it has already been partially reopened. He also said Iran will never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.
The US and Iran plan to hold a signing ceremony for the war-ending MOU in Geneva, Switzerland, on June 19. Disputes persist over the detailed terms and whether a final agreement will be reached.
There are also reports that some in the US Congress believe support for the war-ending agreement should be withheld until the full text is made public.
