Iran Says US, Iranian Presidents May Sign MOU Directly as Review Continues
Forecast Trend Report by Period

Iran said the United States and Iran are considering having their presidents directly sign a memorandum of understanding.
Walter Bloomberg reported on June 17 that an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said the two sides are discussing a plan for the US and Iranian presidents to sign the MOU themselves. The proposal remains under review.
No final decision has been made.
The US and Iran have also recently been discussing bringing forward the MOU signing schedule.
Iran's foreign minister previously said that if the final stage of negotiations is completed, the two countries could sign the agreement remotely and then formally announce it.
After the MOU is signed, the two sides plan to hold about 60 days of follow-up negotiations toward a final agreement, including talks on Iran's nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions on Tehran.
As the signing format and timing for the MOU become clearer, markets have grown more optimistic about a normalization in US-Iran relations. Still, additional negotiations are needed before any final agreement is reached.
